Uralla Weekend Easter 2015
Uralla Weekend – Easter 2015 ICCA in conjunction with Old School Japanese Car Club Qld
The interclub meeting between the 2 clubs is to be in Uralla this year which is situated almost half way between Brisbane and Sydney. Detail of how to get to Uralla and what is there can be found at Uralla Info along with resources and maps of the area.
The dates are Good Friday 3rd April until Sunday 5th April with options of days either side.
Arrive in Uralla on Good Friday and finish on Sunday evening leaving Monday for travel or optional tours.
Good Friday 3rd April
The first event is an afternoon run to Mount Yarrowyck Nature Reserve & Rock Art Site. This is about 25Km out of Uralla and would intend to leave the motel at around 2.30PM for the rock art view and afternoon tea at the site. There is a ~40 min return flat walk to the rock art and then afternoon tea will be provided.
There are full facilities at the site. We intend to leave Yarrowyck to go back to Uralla at around 5.30PM.
Dinner is scheduled at the Thunderbolt Inn Pub for 7PM. As its Good Friday there may be variations.
Thunderbolt Inn is located at Cnr Bridge & Hill Streets, Uralla.
Saturday 4th April
Breakfast in Uralla
9AM start for Historic Walking Tour of Uralla including Mc Cossens Museum (after 10AM). There is a wide range of architectural styles found around its streets and lots of interesting shops and places to see. The Uralla Heritage Walk show cases many of these charming buildings and tells their stories.
We plan to have a BBQ lunch at Whyworry Winery some 4Km out of Uralla at around 1PM so the walking tour is planned to finish at around noon.
Tour and Photos
After lunch there is a planned tour to Gostwyck Chapel which is about 11km from Uralla on the Gostwyck Road. This is a photo op in front of the historic chapel but our stay will be not long as there are no facilities at the site.
Dinner is from 7PM at the Bowling Club Bistro - The Diggings Bistro at the Uralla Bowlo Cnr Queen & Hill Streets, Uralla.
Sunday 5th April
Historic Drive is from Uralla via Bendemeer to Walcha Road Historic Inn to Walcha and then return. The drive is around 140Km in total with plenty of stops and lunch at the Walcha Road Historic Inn. Highlights include, Bendemeer, Woolbrook, Walcha Road, Oxley Wild Rivers National Park, Walcha, Irish Town and Dangar’s Lagoon.
We plan to leave Uralla at around 10AM for the leisurely drive to Bendemeer and then onto Walcha Road. Afternoon return is via Walcha village and Kentucky Winery/brewery Eastview Estate, a vineyard offering fine dining carriage or just in case we are in need of more supplies a coffee at the Kentucky General Store.
Dinner is at the Top Pub, 23-27 Bridge Street, Uralla at around 7.30PM.
